Condo rentals on St John offer you a great alternative to traditional hotels or inns.
I've always liked the "home away from home" feel that you get when vacationing in a good condo.
You also get the advantage of a well-equipped kitchen, which is a great feature when you want an alternative to eating in restaurants all the time. What's more, you usually have more privacy in a condo rental than you do at a traditional hotel, inn, or guesthouse.
You'll find several choices in condo rentals on St John. Complexes range from basic, comfortable units to posh, luxurious "near-resorts".
Many of the condo rentals are in and around Cruz Bay, others scattered around the island.
All rates quoted are for the high-season. Low-season rates will generally be 60% to 75% of high-season. Remember to add 8% hotel tax and 10% service charge to the price.

Gallows Point Resort is probably the most luxurious of St John's condo properties. It's set on around thirty acres of lushly landscaped grounds overlooking Cruz Bay, which is just a short walk down the hill.
The complex consists of 14 individually-owned condominiums, each of which contains four one-bedroom suites. Each suite has kitchen facilities and private terrace with water views.
The resort has a pool and restaurant on site as well as a small beach. A flock of peacocks wanders the grounds.

Serendip Condos is one of the most reasonably priced condo rentals on St John. The complex consists of ten studios plus a one-bedroom unit about three-quarters of a mile up from Cruz Bay. The units are well equipped, with full kitchens, TV and phone, A/C and fans, and private balconies with great views.

Coconut Coast Villas offers well appointed studios, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units fully equipped with kitchens, A/C, ceiling fans, TV, phones, and balconies overlooking the tranquil Caribbean. Coconut Coast is situated a few feet from the pebbly shore of Turner Bay, just around the bend and over the hill from Cruz Bay.

Lavender Hill Suites offers very nice one- and two-bedroom suites right in Cruz Bay, just a short walk southwest from the ferry dock. They have all the usual amenities, including fully equipped kitchens, TV's, phones, fans, and decks with excellent views over Cruz Bay's harbor and beyond to St Thomas.
One-bedrooms run around $400 in the high-season, and two-bedrooms around $600.

Cruz Bay Villas has four very nice one-bedroom condos just a few minutes walk from Cruz Bay. The units are high up on a hillside with great views looking down toward Cruz Bay and St Thomas beyond. Good kitchens, A/C, ceiling fans, TV, and very nice furnishings. They require a minimum five day stay.

Battery Hill offers eight beautifully appointed two-bedroom luxury condos plus a one-bedroom cottage up the hill overlooking Cruz Bay. The condos have full kitchens, the cottage a small kitchenette (mini-fridge, electric skillet, coffee maker, and microwave). Views over Cruz Bay harbor range from great to spectacular.
Rates are $450 per night for the suites and $240 for the cottage.
